Will tested allergic to dogs. Crate life is a dangerous game.

We were told Will was allergic to a bunch of stuff months ago. Since then, he has not ingested anything that he is allergic to, yet his eczema is still horrible. We decided it was time to go to a new allergist. I mean the poor kid can’t wear shorts because he will itch his legs until they bleed. And since he looks really good in shorts, it’s a tragedy for everyone.

The last allergist we saw was fine. However, she f was kind of just like he’s allergic to X,Y,Z, here’s an Epipen, bye. Ummmm...ok?. Since he turned one we had to get him retested for dairy to see what kind of milk he could drink. This was a good time to start with a new allergist. We did scratch testing and it was sad. His back blew up. He tested positive for peanuts, eggs, dairy (casein as well), and dogs. He previously tested positive for almonds and didn’t this time. So we are going to get blood work for almonds as well as the egg protein. The doctor said if he’s not allergic to the egg protein he can have eggs cooked into things. That would be sweet!

Now, onto the dog allergy. Bruno is hypo-allergenic. Every allergist will tell you this doesn’t exist, but does. I’m sure of this because Joe and I are allergic to dogs, but we’re not allergic to B.  The doctor told us to keep him out of Will’s room. But, hello he’s all over our family room, living room, everywhere! He was here first yo. We try our best to make sure Bruno doesn’t lick Will. We do have one problem though-- Will is obsessed with Bruno’s crate. He loves to go in it. We will work on that. Kids are so weird.

Next up-- Will’s skin. We didn’t used to bathe him every night because we thought it would make his skin worse. This doctor wants us to bathe him every night and immediately lube him up with as much cream as possible. We use the Aveeno baby eczema creams and the Cerave shampoo + soap, both eczema approved. So we will give this a try. So far, he has had good days and bad days, as usual.

We will continue to try new things and see what happens. If he’s not allergic to almonds or the egg protein, that would be awesome! Will keep you guys posted!
